Meet Our Team

James Fawcett
President, Digital Strategist
James is TPI’s owner and digital strategist, though he still stays close to the work itself. He’s involved in most projects from early planning through production, helping make sure everything we create is built to deliver real results. His background spans research and development, multimedia production, and project management for organizations like Bridge Information Systems and The Sporting News. He also teaches interaction design at Washington University in St. Louis and has an uncanny ability to spot a stray pixel or mismatched hex code from across the room.
Born in San Antonio, Texas, James grew up in St. Charles, Missouri, where he still lives with his wife, Tami, and their two dogs, Turner and Nigel. When he’s not in front of a screen, he’s usually hiking, canoeing, or tinkering with old motorcycles.
Q&A with James…
“I’m naturally really curious, so I enjoy getting to learn about different industries and different people’s perspectives. Getting to know our clients and partners, and understanding what they care about and what’s important to them is always so interesting and so valuable. I think it helps us at TPI serve those clients better, but it also helps me broaden my understanding the people and the world around me.”
“I have a DIY mindset, so I like acquiring new skills (and new tools). There’s definitely some satisfaction in being able to do the thing on your own, but I don’t think it’s the finished project that matters so much to me. I like truly understanding how the thing is done, and banking that foundational knowledge and experience so that I can either apply it in other areas, or use it as a starting point to really practice a craft and get good at it if I want. I would much rather be a jack of all trades, than a master of one.”
“ ‘I don’t want to sell anything, buy anything, or process anything as a career. I don’t want to sell anything bought or processed, or buy anything sold or processed, or process anything sold, bought, or processed, or repair anything sold, bought, or processed. You know, as a career, I don’t want to do that.’ ”
“No, are you kidding me? It’s never too late for coffee.”
We’re happy to help.
