Carmen Christopher
UX / UI Designer
Carmen is not only a talented creative designer, she is an incredibly thoughtful UX designer and problem solver. She received her bachelor’s degree from University of Missouri Columbia and has continued her postgraduate studies in user experience design. But a great education will only get you so far. Carmen backs up her book smarts with unique instincts for understanding our clients’ objectives, simplifying complex processes, and formulating exceptional UX solutions. That formula makes her an invaluable player on our team.
Carmen grew up in Festus, Missouri before going to Mizzou to study English. After graduating from college, she moved to Winston-Salem, North Carolina while her husband went to law school. After he graduated, they moved back home and now live in Kirkwood with their two dogs, Albus and Roger. Outside work, Carmen enjoys reading science fiction and fantasy novels, watching Survivor, and making gluten-free food and desserts.
Q&A with Carmen…
“I’d love to master the skill of digesting gluten. But if you don’t consider that a skill, then it would be gluten-free baking. I love sweets and baking, and if I could nail every recipe every time, that would be a dream.”
“My favorite part is actually a part I don’t directly work on. I love seeing it all come together. As a UX designer, I make mockups of what the site will look like in Figma, which I love doing. But seeing it come to life as a live site that everyone can use and interact with is so cool. Like, here’s this thing that I thought of in my head, and now it’s helping our clients and their users achieve their goals.”
“Playing piano! I took lessons as a kid and am trying to relearn everything I forgot. It’s very productive and way better than cleaning up after dinner.”
“When I want something sweet, I make a batch of cookie dough from scratch and then eat about a half a cup of it. I don’t actually want the cookies, my husband eats those. Just the pre-chilled cookie dough.”
