R4R is Almost Here!
We can't believe it's nearly the end of August either, but nonetheless, Race for the Rivers is just around the corner! As the primary sponsor for this annual paddling event to benefit a variety of local clean water initiatives from the Greenway Network, we invite you to join us on the river on August 29 & 30 as a participant in one of two canoeing and kayaking races or on the banks of the Missouri at Frontier Park for the Race for the Rivers Festival.
Just as a refresher: Race for the Rivers is a staged-event covering 65 miles of the scenic Missouri River from Washington Missouri all the way to the Confluence. It is a race for the serious paddler with strong endurance and a desire to compete. The Clean Water Challenge is designed for the less experienced racer and/or recreational paddlers. This race begins in Weldon Spring and concludes at the Race for the Rivers Festival in Frontier Park.
The Festival runs from noon to 7pm and is open to any and all who are interested in good food, great music and more information about how to encourage and enjoy healthy rivers. New additions this year include beer courtesy of Schlafly Brewery and an expanded custom canoe and kayak show. We hope to see you there!
