join us for Race for the Rivers 2008!

As many of you may or may not be aware, our Creative Director, James is the resident paddling aficionado here at TPI. As such, we are proud to be a primary sponsor for what has become an annual canoeing/kayaking race right here in St. Charles called the Race for the Rivers. Not just fun and games (though, there's plenty of both!) Race for the Rivers is focused on clean water education, restoration and recreation. The race, staged by The Greenway Network, a non-profit citizens action group committed to clean Missouri waterways, is set to take place August 23 & 24.

Three separate events ensure that everyone from competitive paddlers to curious spectators can get involved to raise awareness for clean water initiatives, and have fun doing it! Race one is a staged-event covering 65 miles of the scenic Missouri River from Washington Missouri all the way to the Confluence. It is a race for the serious paddler with strong endurance and a desire to compete. Race two is designed for the less experienced racer and/or recreational paddlers - pace is entirely at the discretion of each entrant. This event begins in Weldon Spring and concludes right here in Saint Charles at the Race for the Rivers Festival in Frontier Park. The Festival is open to any and all who are interested in good food, great music and more information about how to encourage and enjoy healthy rivers. All tax deductible pledges will go to support Greenway Network's various clean water initiatives.
