case study - Total Landscape Inc.
Total Landscape Inc. came to TPI in the early fall of 2007, with a common complaint: Many of the traditional advertising strategies that the company had relied on for lead generation, such as Yellow Page advertising, didn't seem to be performing as well as they had in the past. Total Landscape had a website, but it was pretty much a non-performer when it came to lead generation, and the site could not be found amongst competitors in the major search engine results for phrases related to "St Louis landscaping."
The objective for TPI was to turn the Total Landscape website into a lead generation source for the company by increasing the amount of qualified (i.e. local) traffic to the site, and ensuring that once visitors landed there, they were driven to the contact form.
To meet this goal we optimized the site and local business listings for lawn care, landscaping, patio and water feature phrases to attract the attention of the major search engines. A blog was created to showcase Total Landscape's work and provide useful lawn and garden tips to their customers. In addition, we re-architectured the site to ensure that search engine spiders could easily crawl and index all critical content, and installed analytical tools to measure the success of our efforts and help Total Landscape gain a greater understanding of their customers wants and needs.
At the six-month review point in March 2008, the site for Total Landscape had increased traffic by over 25% and boasted an impressive 81 top 10 rankings for "St. Louis landscaping" related phrases in major search engines - up from zero at the outset of the project. Additionally, leads received through the site have increased by more than 12 fold, and the Total Landscape blog now receives more visitors per month than the entire website did prior to our strategic improvements.
