When it came time to give their site a thorough refresh, the makers of Black Magic Car Care products approached our team with several objectives in mind. First and foremost, Black Magic was looking for a web presence with a greater appeal to a younger audience. Though it was important to make better use of available technology, the site needed to be more than just bells and whistles in order to serve its dual purpose as an information source on Black Magic products and an interactive branded experience for visitors.
As the folks at Black Magic expressed particular interest in Flash technology, our team faced a challenge in achieving the right balance of search-engine friendly content and crowd pleasing visual effects. Doing so meant that our designers and programmers worked closely with our SEO experts to develop what we like to call a "hybrid" flash site. For users, the site differs little from your typical flash experience, rich with visual imagery and interactive features - though subtle SEO techniques have been carefully braided throughout, creating a site that is as appealing to search engines as it is to visitors.
Though still in its infancy as a live site, BlackMagicShine.com has met with an initial client and consumer response that is overwhelmingly positive. Already, web traffic for the month of May has increased over 45% from the previous month, and has achieved 44 rankings in top ten search results for relevant phrases.
