case study - Covenant House

Covenant House MO WebsiteAs an affiliate of Covenant House International, Covenant House Missouri has been providing assistive services to at-risk youth – ages 16 to 21 - in urban St. Louis and St. Louis County since 1998. CHMO offers a range of services including crisis beds and a transitional living program where at-risk youths learn essential skills needed for living on their own.

CHMO came to us in need of a full-scale site redesign that would better communicate their message to potential donors and volunteers, reach out to youth in need and improve usability and administrative functionality.

First and foremost, Covenant House wanted the site to have a youthful, vibrant and optimistic look and feel. To achieve this, we established a bold color palette of yellow and orange with blue and purple accents. In an effort to personalize the site for youth in need, we opted to use current and former Covenant House tenants in the on-site photography.

Content was re-organized and simplified to make the site as easy to navigate as possible and place important information for donors and volunteers front and center.  Additionally, we established a Twitter account and a YouTube channel and integrated these features, along with the existing CHMO blog, into the fabric of the site. To ensure easy updates and maintenance for the Covenant House staff, the entire site was built on our custom content management system.
